Then Indiana’s property-tax law changed.
2025: Referendum approved
Crown Point voters approved the current operating referendum in May 2025. After that vote, Senate Enrolled Act 1 changed Indiana’s property-tax system.
SEA 1 takes effect
Those changes significantly reduce the amount of local revenue available to our schools by millions of dollars every year.
2026: Replacement referendum on the ballot
The 2026 ballot question asks voters to replace the current referendum with a new eight-year operating referendum.

The filed Revenue Spending Plan identifies four major uses for referendum revenue:

Staffing and resources to maintain class sizes and support students.

Transportation services used by thousands of Crown Point students each school day.
